Job Description:

Job Summary
This position provides input, support, and performs full systems life cycle management activities (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.). He/She participates in component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for Applications Development (AD) initiatives to meet business requirements. This position provides input to applications development project plans and integrations. He/She collaborates with teams and supports emerging technologies to ensure effective communication and achievement of objectives. This position provides knowledge and support for applications development, integration, and maintenance. He/She provides input to department and project teams on decisions supporting projects.

Skills:

Datastage 8.7, 9.1, 11.5, and 11.7 versions, Linux, SQL Server, Mainframe. 

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and developing complex data pipelines using Datastage 8.7, 9.1, 11.5, and 11.7 versions.
• Design and develop ETL processes using DataStage for efficient data extraction and loading.
• Implement data transformation techniques to cleanse and manipulate data as per business requirements.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and understand data needs.
• Perform data validation and testing to ensure accuracy and integrity of the data.
• Optimize ETL jobs for performance and scalability, identifying bottlenecks and making necessary improvements.
• Monitor and troubleshoot ETL processes to resolve issues and improve overall process efficiency.
• Document all ETL designs and processes for future reference and training purposes.
• Conduct code reviews and peer assessments to ensure best practices in ETL development.
• Stay current with industry trends in data management, ETL tools, and data warehousing technologies.
• Provide support during data migration activities and ensure minimal disruption to services.
• Work closely with the data governance team to ensure compliance with data standards and policies.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience with ETL tools, particularly with IBM DataStage.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture and features.
• Proficiency in SQL and database management systems.
• Experience in data modeling techniques and best practices.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in ETL development.
• Certifications in DataStage, or related technologies are a plus.
• Experience in Agile methodologies and practices is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Linux and Mainframe
