Job Description:
The Health & Safety Training & Development Manager is responsible for developing training materials for the Health & Safety group. He/She analyzes Health & Safety data to determine the skills needed to improve the function. This position creates and evaluates learning.
- Reviews and approves global design solutions to verify identified performance objectives meet project sponsors’ requirements.
- Oversees learning program development to ensure learning is developed in line with program scope and deliverables.
- Collaborates with customers to understand, evaluate, and address current conditions and issues for the most appropriate training solution.
- Meets with project teams to align progress and hours with the program scope.
- Conducts status reviews (i.e., meetings and status reports) to confirm programs meet scheduling and budgetary specifications.
- Responds to customer requests to analyze and evaluate training needs and offer appropriate solution strategies.
- Works with customers to understand, evaluate, and address current conditions and/or issues to provide the most appropriate training solution.
- Researches the customers’ concerns to determine if their need can be addressed through training or if a process change is a more appropriate solution.
- Analyzes the identified needs and assesses budgets and resources to develop effective solutions for the customer.
- Identifies potential vendors for training development based on the customers’ training needs (e.g., CBT, leadership development, management development, etc.).
- Writes requests for proposals that define the current and target business situations to request recommended solutions, timelines, and pricing from vendors.
- Reviews and analyzes vendor proposals to determine the viability of the proposed solutions given the analysis of the current business state, the desired business state, and the steps recommended in order to achieve the desired business outcomes.
- Manages vendor deliverables to ensure they meet with those agreed upon in the statement of work.
- Makes adjustments throughout the project to ensure the successful attainment of the stated objectives.
- Manages contracts to ensure vendors receive payment for services rendered and to protect the interests of all involved parties.
- Pilots training projects to determine usability.
- Coordinates train the trainer classes to disseminate facilitators’ materials and coordinate logistics for successful deployment.
- Provides on-going support and maintenance for training programs to remain in adherence with regulatory and compliance changes.
- Creates evaluation plans to measure the impact of training and set guidelines for business impact and risk assessment evaluations.
